George W. Wells Sr., 90, of the 800 block of Elmhurst Lane, a retired machinist, died Oct. 12, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mr. Wells was a native of Spencer, N.C., and was the widower of Florence Johnson Wells. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include one daughter, Greta Jean Wells of Portsmouth; two sons, Phillip J. Wells of Portsmouth and George W. Wells Jr. of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Pearl Sullivan and Hazel Harrell, both of Rocky Mount, N.C.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, David R. Wells.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, N.C., by the Rev. Bill Forbes. Visitation will be at 800 Elmhurst Lane. Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, is handling arrangements.
