Horace Jones, 82, of the 100 block of Allen Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1994.
Mr. Jones was retired as owner and operator of Parkside Cleaners, located in the Cradock area of Portsmouth, and a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. He was the son of the late Horace P. and Minnie Burgess Jones and the widower of Florence Jones.
Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Curry of Portsmouth; two sons, Dick Jones of Birmingham, Ala., and David G. Jones of Chesapeake; one brother, Lodwick Jones of Elizabeth City, N.C.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted Friday, Oct. 14, 1994 at 11 a.m. in Old Hollywood Cemetery, Elizabeth City, N.C., with the Rev. F. Joe Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m., in Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, and at other times at the home of the daughter, 2309 Bidgood Drive, Portsmouth.
