Mildred Elizabeth Flythe, 59, of the 1400 block of Shelton Ave., a health care companion, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Flythe was born in Southampton County, daughter of the late Willie C. and Lizzie Gary Hobbs. She was employed with SEVAMP Senior Center and was the widow of Van L. Flythe. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Southampton County.
Survivors include four daughters, Yvonne Richardson and Brenda A. Hill of Norfolk, Lorrie J. Flythe of Portsmouth and Lizzie L. Flythe of Virginia Beach; four sons, Andrew Flythe, Van L. Flythe Jr., Timothy Flythe of Norfolk and Quinton Flythe of Virignia Beach; two sisters, Anne Blow of Chesapeake and Edith Woods of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers, Willie H. Hobbs of Southampton County and William Hobbs of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be at noon Saturday at Riddick Funeral Service, 1225 Norview Ave., Norfolk. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m Friday at the funeral home. The family will be at her residence. The funeral will assemble at the funeral home at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.
