Central Fidelity Banks Inc. said Wednesday that its third quarter income rose 2.5 percent. The Richmond-based banking company reported net income of to $27.4 million, or 70 cents per share, for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared to $26.7 million, or 69 a share, in the same 1993 period. One of Virginia's largest banks with $9.9 billion in assets and $7.2 billion in deposits, Central Fidelity has 230 branches statewide, including more than 60 in Hampton Roads. by CNB
