JAMES RALEIGH MARSHALL

James Raleigh Marshall, 46, of Danville, died Monday, Oct. 10, 1994, in his home.

Mr. Marshall was born Jan. 28, 1948, in Lynchburg, the son of Frances Bliss Marshall of Danville and the late Raleigh A. Marshall.

He lived in Norfolk until moving to Danville in 1987. He was a member of Azalea Baptist Church, Norfolk, and attended Woodberry Hills Baptist Church.

While living in Norfolk, Mr. Marshall worked as an electrician for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard from 1974 until 1987. He later worked in the same capacity with Times Fiber Communications of Chatham.

A veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, Mr. Marshall is survived by his wife, Janet Parsons Marshall of the home; two sons, Steven Edward Marshall of Chatham and Brian Wayne Marshall of Dry Fork; a sister, Sandra M. Dorsey of Danville; and one grandchild.

A funeral was held Thursday, Oct. 13, in the North Main Chapel of Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home. Interment was in Highland Burial Park.

The family is receiving friends at the residence of his mother, Frances B. Marshall, 515 Afton Road, Danville.

They suggest that memorial donations be made to the Wayles R. Harrison Memorial Fund, 209 Stratford Place, Danville, Va. 24541.
