Violetta Perry Benfield, 90, of Route 1, died early Thursday, Oct. 13, 1994, in Brian Center Nursing Care, Hertford.
Mrs. Benfield was a native of Chowan County and the daughter of the late Asa T. and Mrs. Georgetta Ward Perry. A registered nurse, she had retired from the Hampton Veterans Administration Hospital in Hampton, Va. She was a member of Warwick Baptist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Vera Perry Altbach of Charlotte; three nieces, Marietta P. Shelly of Richmond, Va., Alvis P. Winslow of Suffolk and Diane H. Boyd of Charlotte; and one nephew, Sidney L. ``Bud'' Perry of Hobbsville.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Perry Family Plot at Warwick Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Hupp. Friends may join the family today from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville. Memorial contributions may be made to Warwick Baptist Church, Hobbsville, N.C. 27946.
