Billie Edward Dew Sr., 69, of the 600 block of Fairview Lane, a retired ship progressman, died Oct. 12, 1994, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mr. Dew was born in Pinetop, N.C., and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Alexander Baptist Church and the Portsmouth Sunday School Bowling Leagues. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Frances B. Dew; one daughter, Beth D. Smith of Chesapeake; two sons, Billie Dew of Manassas, Va., and Larry Burriss of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a sister, Susan D. Rawls of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and a grandchild, Sean Edward Smith.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, by the Rev. John Burr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to Alexander Baptist Church Building Fund, or a favorite charity.
