William Floyd Combs Sr., 84, of the 2900 block of Verdun Ave., joined his heavenly Father on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1994.
Mr. Combs was born in Arapahoe, N.C. He was a retired upholsterer from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Norview Baptist Church and the Atlantic Masonic Lodge (NU)2, AF & AM.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth Combs. Survivors also include a loving dedicated son, William F. Combs Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Combs; three grandchildren, Terrie Weston, Kimberly Hall and William Combs III. He is also survived by two sisters, Lennie Harris of Arapahoe, N.C., and Sadie Lee of Georgetown, S.C. He was predeceaseed by a sister, Annie Morton.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. William Gregory. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.
