Margaret Josephine Simmons, 69, of the 4700 block of Condor Drive died Oct. 12, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a native of New York City, N.Y., the widow of Walter Robert Simmons and a member of St. Therese's Catholic Church, Chesapeake.
Survivors include seven daughters, Theresa Nerlich of Woodstock, Ga., Margaret Pawlowski of Carmel, N.Y., Patricia Barto of Carrollton, Va., Eileen Simmons and Joan Simmons, both of Chesapeake, Karen Rieger of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Kathleen Korycinski of Valatie, N.Y.; two sons, Robert Simmons, USMC, of Germany and David Simmons of Chesapeake; a sister, Ann Marie Coleman of New York City; a brother, Joseph Coleman of Carmel, N.Y.; and 14 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, from 5 to 8 p.m. today. The body will then be shipped to Stutzman Funeral Home, Queens Village, N.Y., for services and burial.
