Seth Whitaker, 82, of the 2300 block of Godwin Blvd., died Oct. 11, 1994, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
A native of Enfield, N.C., he was the son of the late Rev. Africa and Rosa Knight Whitaker. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station and was the proprietor of the Suffolk Lunch Room. He was a member of Healing Chapel Baptist Church and the Greater Suffolk Elks Lodge (NU)206.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marian Luke Whitaker; a daughter, Mrs. Vivian Russell of Suffolk; two sons, Clyde E. Whitaker of Suffolk and Calvin W. Whitaker of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson of Baltimore and Mrs. Maude Wright of New York City; two brothers, Abel Whitaker of Baltimore and David Whitaker of Detroit; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be held on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in Healing Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles E. Williams. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
