Billy Ray ``Bill'' Spencer Sr., 54, of the 1000 block of Owls Creek Lane died Oct. 10, 1994, in Sussex County, Va.
Mr. Spencer was born in Princess Anne County and was a truck driver for McDonald Co. He was a member of Missionary To Help Others Fellowship Center in Virginia Beach and was a licensed minister of his church. He was the son of the late Mary A. Spencer and Almond Spencer Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Askew Spencer; six daughters, Patricia Askew McNeil of Annadale, Va., Valerie Askew Wertz of Chesterfield, Va., Phyllis Askew Johnson, Michelle Spencer, Rosett Askew, Sarah Askew, all of Virginia Beach; four sons, Billy Ray Spencer Jr., Timmy Devon, Byron Askew and Christopher Spencer, all of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Willie Bell Griffin, Florine Dondeno and Mary E. Phillips, all of Virginia Beach; a brother, Ormond Spencer Jr. of Virginia Beach; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Christ Disciple Church, Virginia Beach, by Apostle Robert S. Howard, Jr. Burial will be in Saint Rest Cemetery, Virginia Beach. T.E. Cooke-Twilight Funeral Home is handling arrangements. There will be no viewing of the remains.
