A 26-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested Thursday and charged with the armed robberies of seven businesses in 11 days.
The arrests came shortly after a witness to the last robbery gave authorities the license number of the getaway car, police said.
Police arrested Craig A. Black, 26, of the 700 block of 13th St. and charged him with seven counts of armed robbery and using a gun during a felony. The boy, whose name was not released because of his age, was charged with six armed robberies, using a gun during the felonies and possessing cocaine.
Black is being held in the city jail on $200,000 bail. The boy has been placed in the Tidewater Detention Home.
Police spokesman Lou Thurston said the alleged robbers are accused of a robbery spree that began Oct. 3 and ended with their arrests Thursday.
Thurston said these stores were robbed:
7-Eleven in the 300 block of 32nd St.
Dunkin Donuts, in the 2400 block of Virginia Beach Blvd., and in the 2900 block of Shore Drive.
