VANITY PLATES KEEP ON FASCINATING US

I did not intend to have so many license plate columns so close together, but friends have inundated me with the gems they've seen.

I have enough to last me through the year and more are coming in. I'm crowded, but happy.

During Peanut Fest, when I could not find my car in the parking area for about an hour, I passed many interesting plates, but I was too busy looking for mine to care.

In other words, I was in TRABUL - DERN IT. MY TYME was spent looking, looking, looking. IM ALL N because I had to look QUIK & FA.

I just wanted to say AIDIOS to Peanut Fest. I didn't want to come BAC AGAIN. ITS TRUE because things were B-N-RUFF. I felt POWRLESS.

The Supreme Power is popular with personalized license plate enthusiasts.

One man suggests TRI GOD. A North Carolina plate suggests REPENT YE. Someone asks R U HIS, someone notes I-SAVED and still another motorist lets us know PRYR-WKS.

Conversely, there is DEMONIC and DEVLISH and, to accompany those, BULLLL.

Letter lovers also go for BUGGGG, and bug lovers also go for BUGS-ME and BUG WYSR, a ``beery'' interesting bug.

That takes care of the insect world, but there are other animal world inhabitants and locales popularized on plates.

Here are a few, although some may be stretching a point: OL BESSY, MS PAWS, EAGLE SCT, ZOO SHE, DOG-MAN, MOUSY 2, HORS TRK, GULL, WOF PACK, OYSTER, SHGY DGS, LDYBEAR and, my favorite in this category, EEK ARAT.

Ladies get less plate recognition than animals. A few for-instances: 1PA BABE for an out-of-stater, and FOR HOPE, presumably for Hope.

There is a plate 4 U NELL and another 4-U-BARB. Wow, talk about original.

There is a plate for MS WEEZY and one for a BLONDDD. Someone else dedicated one to WLD HUSY.

DI 4 JOY is romantic, I guess. Here is one we could use in this office for Susie Stoughton: O MYSUZQ. Or, SU BABEY.

Another smitten gent proclaims ANN OK, and there is a tribute to PANZIE.

Also seen are tributes to MTN LADY and DIXIE LDY.

Here's one I would like to ask about: MS ASK. And here's one I really like: MS SO&SO.

Someone who enjoys loud television pays tribute to MRFY BRN.

And let us all pay tribute to our MOTHERS.

And to the one who can DO IT-ALL. Must be an editor.

On the other hand, these could be for writers: NUT 100 or U CRAZY. No, it's got to be this one: PURE GEM.

An anti-abortion plate reads FOR-LIFE.

And boo to the April 15 gang: TAX NERD and IRS IOU.

A car right behind that one - honest - summed it up best: PORE.

That's enough for this go-'round, but you can bet your plate fees there will be a lot more before the end of this CENTURY. by CNB
