WILLIAM SPELLER

William ``Biddy'' Speller, 65, of the 900 block of Philpotts Road, a retired ship loader, died Oct. 12, 1994, in DePaul Hospital.

Mr. Speller was born in Windsor, N.C. He retired after 27 years from the Navy Supply Center and was retired for 20 years. He was a member of Eureka Lodge and the son of the late Sarah Speller and Jerome Speller.

Survivors include his wife, Venora K. Speller; two daughters; two sons; three sisters, Lillie S. Bond of Norfolk, Ruby Williams of New York and Cleonnis Speller of Atlanta, Ga.; four stepsisters, Ophelia Patrick of New York, Alma Wichter of Roanoke, Mildred and Margaret Winborne of New York; two brothers, Johnnie Speller of Chesapeake and Joseph Speller of Norfolk; two stepbrothers, Charles Winborne, Floyd Winborne of Chesapeake; five grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Hale Funeral Home, 2100 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, by the Rev. Howard B. Purvis. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will assemble at 977 Philpotts Road.
