JAMES E. SCOTT JR.

The Rev. James Edgar Scott Jr., 85, died Oct. 15, 1994, in a Richmond hospital.

He was a native of Tennessee and had retired in 1974 from Charity United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach. The Rev. Scott was a chaplain during World War II and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Etta Tomlinson Scott of Snyder Memorial Home, Richmond; one son, James E. Scott III of Eureka, Calif.; two grandchildren, Lisa Scott and Nicholas Scott.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1994 at Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, with the Rev. James T. Higgins officiating. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is handling arrangements.
