As a shipbuilder at Newport News Shipbuilding, I am grateful to Norman Sisisky for all he's done to obtain full funding for CVN-76. Without Congressman Sisisky's efforts, I don't think the money for this carrier would have been approved by Congress.
Everyone in Hampton Roads is lucky that our representatives work as a team and that the interests of the region come first. They do not play politics or party when it comes to support for the military and the Navy.
Getting this new carrier saved the jobs of thousands of Newport News Shipbuilding employees on the Peninsula and in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Suffolk.
Congressman Sisisky should be commended for his efforts and supported for re-election this November.
