Charlie McCoy ``Mac'' Powell, 71, of the 3800 block of Greenwood Drive, died Oct. 16, 1994, in Maryview Medical Center.
Mr. Powell was born in Rich Square, N.C. He was a self-employed mechanic for more than 50 years. He was the widower of Janie Powell and was a member of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Powell and Ann Powell, and a son, Charlie M. Powell Jr., all of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sisters, Evelyn Baker of Perris, Calif., Melba Moore of Bronx, N.Y., and Mildred Hall Cox of Portsmouth; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a devoted loving friend, Erline Langston of Greenville, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Corprew Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
