The Smithfield Police Department and the Friends of Jason Holt will sponsor a 5K Run Saturday, Nov. 5, for the benefit of Jason Holt, a 4-year-old boy who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Check-in will begin at 7 a.m., and the run will begin at 8 a.m. at Underwood Lane and Main Street. The age groups will be male and female, 35 and under and 35 and over.
The registration fee is $15, which includes a T-shirt. Awards will be given to the first- and second-place males and females in each age group, and to the oldest male and female runners. Registration will be held at the Smithfield Police Department through Friday, Nov. 4.
