This is an artist's rendering of the Annetta M. Lane Apartments in
Middle Towne Arch. Groundbreaking will be held 2 p.m. Saturday. The
three-story, 40-unit building will house residents who are elderly
or handicapped. The $2,350,800 project is to be completed within 18
months. It is sponsored by Southern District No. 1 of the United
Order of Tents of J.R. Giddins and Jollifee Union, an organization
entirely operated by black women. Annetta M. Lane was a founder of
the group.
