Bessie Bellamy of the 3400 block of Colonial Ave., a homemaker, died Oct. 19, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Bellamy was born in Fair Bluff, S.C., and was the widow of Lacy G. Bellamy. She was a member of Tabernacle Voice of Deliverance Holiness Church and Salvation Army, Norfolk Corps.
Survivors include two daughters, Iona Oliver of Nickels, S.C., and Christine Johnson of Norfolk; five sons, Paul Bellamy, Mack Bellamy, Johnnie Bellamy, Archie Bellamy, Lacy G. Bellamy Jr., all of Norfolk; two sisters, Irene Hardy of Akron, Ohio, and Lula Mae McCray of Nickels, S.C.; four brothers, James Dewitt of New York City, Homer Bessant and Jimmie Bessant, both of Trenton, N.J., and John Bessant of Marion, S.C.; 29 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Freemont Baptist Church, in Long, S.C. Burial will be in Long Cemetery, Long, S.C. The remains will be ready for viewing today at noon. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
