GARY L. COOPER SR.

Gary Lowell Cooper Sr., 60, of the 400 block of Reeves Ave., a construction worker, died Oct. 18, 1994, in Norfolk.

Mr. Cooper was born in Norfolk and was a former member of New Central Baptist Church, in the Berkley section of Norfolk. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a sergeant from 1952 to 1960.

Survivors include three sons, Gary Cooper Jr., Michael Cooper and Brehon Cooper, all of Norfolk; a brother, Milton L. Cooper of Dover, Del.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell L. Cooper, and his sister, Alva Cooper Berry.

A graveside service will be conducted at noon Saturday in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Anthony Moses. Family and friends will assemble at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Joycelyn Hicks Johnson, 2910 Beachmont Ave., Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Saturday for the funeral processional to the grave site.
