Ivan Cherry, 29, of the 900 block of Charlotte Drive died Oct. 18, 1994 in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Cherry was born in Portsmouth. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Newport News and First African Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pa.
Survivors include his parents, Lorene Cherry of Newport News and Linwood Cherry Jr. of Portsmouth; two sisters, Teresa Cherry Vanhook and Sandy Cherry Edwards, both of Newport News; two brothers, Carl R. Cherry of Newport News and Samuel Cherry of Washington, D.C.; and a grandparent, James W. Bazemore of Aulander, N.C.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery. Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements. The family will meet the day of the funeral at 919 Republican Road, Windsor, N.C.
