Elizabeth Hoggard Brown, 59, of the 400 block of Goodspeed Road, died Oct. 20, 1994, in her residence.
Mrs. Brown was born in Severn, N.C. She was a former church secretary with Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, where she was also a member and very active in the church choir. She was the first four- year education graduate of the College of William and Mary, Norfolk campus.
Survivors include her husband, Sylvester D. Brown III; a daughter and son-in-law, Tamra and Tom Patrick of Virginia Beach; her mother, Louise Pope Hoggard; a sister, Louise H. McAfee of Vienna; a brother, John N. Hoggard of Chesapeake; a grandson, Charles Patrick of Virginia Beach; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Virginia Beach United Methodist Church by Dr. Paul C. Bailey. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
