W. Douglas Caskey, assistant county administrator for community development, will step in to fill the shoes of County Administrator Myles Standish, who resigned Thursday to become Suffolk's city manager.
After a brief executive session, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Caskey's appointment as interim administrator. He will take over when Standish leaves in mid-November.
Caskey worked as a planner for 11 years in Suffolk before following Standish from that city to Isle of Wight in October 1987.
A Charlotte native, Caskey, 46, has a degree in urban planning from East Carolina University. by CNB
