Therese Elizabeth Brosier Williams of Suffolk, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 1994, at Obici Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Williams and by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Brosier. For 37 years, she was employed as an elementary school teacher in the City of Suffolk at the Andrew J. Brown School. She attended St. Paul High School and College in Lawrenceville, Va., Hampton Institute in Hampton and graduated from Virginia Sate University in Petersburg. Further graduate studies were pursued at Columbia University in New York City.
In former years, Mrs. Williams was an outstanding soloist. She sang with several university choirs and provided special vocal music for a variety of organizations throughout the state. She was a member of First Baptist Church Mahan St. Prior to her illness, she held membership with civic and educational organizations.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. today in First Baptist Church Mahan St. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
