HALLOWEEN FUNFEST: A Halloween Funfest will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at La Petite Academy, 1025 Plantation Lakes Circle, Chesapeake. Featured will be prizes, games, refreshments and a costume contest. There will be a small entry fee that will be donated to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
Halloween activities will be held at the Southside Boys and Girls Club beginning Tuesday with ``Wacky Day'' games played backward. Wednesday will be Autumn and Halloween Arts and Crafts. Thursday will be Halloween Jeopardy. Friday will include The Club of Horrors featuring a carnival, Halloween hunt and movie, ghost stories and more. Friday (teens 12 and up) will be a masquerade ball from 6 to 8 p.m. Prizes awarded for best costume. Call 545-9720.
Monster Madness, a Halloween celebration for trick or treaters, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Virginia Marine Science Museum. Children dressed in their favorite costumes can participate in a scavenger hunt, make crazy crafts and hear a scary story. The fee is $4 for members and $6 for non-members with no charge for the accompanying adult. To register, call 437-4949.
A Halloween Celebration will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Children's Museum of Virginia parking garage, 200 County St. in Portsmouth. Some activities include: ghost stories, sponge painting, face and hand painting, stenciling, games, puppet making, pumpkin decorating, mask making, witch toss, marshmallow hang and more.
A Family Pumpkin Party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 at London Bridge Baptist Church, 2460 Potters Road. Admission is $1 per person or $4 per family. There will be games, candy, prizes and more. Do not wear any scary costumes.
MONSTER MASH: The KinderCare Monster Mash to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at 2052 S. Independence Blvd. Halloween festivities will include carnival games, a haunted house, monster music, a raffle for a free week of day care and more.
COSTUME PARTY: A Halloween Costume Party for adults will be held at Lake Taylor Community Hospital from 8 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the patients' dining room. Call Carol Bowen at 499-1093. There is no cost.
TRICK OR TREATING: Lynnhaven Mall will host trick or treating in the mall from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. Children under 12 who are accompanied by an adult are invited.
Trick or treat at Greenbrier Mall from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 beginning at the Customer Service Center.
Pembroke Mall Safe Trick-or-Treating, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 31. An adult and children costume contest will follow.
Halloween Carnival, 4 to 8 p.m., Oct. 31, Red Mill Elementary School PTA. Advance tickets are $4 for children 4 and over and free for adults and children 3 and under. At the door, $5 for children 4 and over and free for adults and children 3 and under.
HAUNTED HAYRIDE: A haunted hayride at Oceana Naval Air Station picnic area will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 7 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 30. The cost is $3 with military ID and $4 without military ID. Call 433-3276 or 427-4769.
