Your paper must really believe in a free meal: You endorse the flat tax. You want to eliminate all the taxes on the well-off - capital gains, interest, dividends.
Your tax would work much like the sales taxes. The same rate would apply to the poor and the middle class as to millionaires.
What are you going to pay the bills with?
Millions of checks go out every month. When people retire, in four or five years they have drawn more by far more than they put into retirement funds.
They would have to cut out something probably. You start with the middle class and poor.
My wife and I live on less than $30,000 income, retired; we pay taxes on all but Social Security. We are satisfied that we have so much more than we were raised to have.
Our mothers and fathers never had what people now have. They had to work as long as they could drag around.
Your Republican plan is to make the rich richer and let their spending trickle down to everybody else.
