Myrtie Zirkle Allison, 74, of the 3000 block of Land of Promise Road, died October 23, 1994.
Mrs. Allison was born in Portsmouth, Va., the daughter of the late John L. and Jennie Bass Zirkle and the widow of Adam Franklin ``Buck'' Allison Sr. She was an active member of the Chesapeake Seventh Day Adventist Church, President of the Jenny McClain Circle of Blackwater Baptist Church and a member of the Nansemond Indian Tribal Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Blanche Allison Sykes of Curritck County, N.C.; one son, Adam Franklin Allison Jr. of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mary Lucille Madden of Portsmouth and Lavina Zirkle Speed of Florida; two brothers, Leslie A. Zirkle of Capon Bridge, W.Va. and Delbert N. Zirkle of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many devoted nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens by the Pastor Rex Frost. The family will receive friends at the home of the daughter, Blanche Sykes, 296 W. Gibbs Road, Knotts Island, N.C. Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
