Michael Dean Fordyce, artist and patron of the arts, born April 30, 1924, passed away quietly in his sleep in the early morning hours of October 21, 1994, in Hampton V.A. Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Westport, Conn., he was the son of the late Ann Jacobs and John Addison Fordyce Jr. He was the grandson of the late John Addison Fordyce M.D., who was the father of dermatology in America after coming from Scotland.
Michael is survived by three daughters, Daria Fordyce of Palm Springs, Calif., Myla Dean and Amanda Concetta Fordyce, both of Virginia Beach; one son, John Addison Fordyce III of Palm Springs, Calif.; and one granddaughter, Amy Fordyce of Palm Springs, Calif.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, Va. Military honors will be presented. Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
