Regarding ``Eastern Shore future'' (editorial, Oct. 7): Why does every article about the Eastern Shore refer to us as being ``isolated''?
The Eastern Shore is connected to Virginia by the Chesapeake Bay-Bridge Tunnel on the south, and to Maryland by U.S. Route 13 to the north, and nothing prevents residents from commuting in either direction. Sometimes I think the rest of the state thinks we have not yet become civilized.
I was born and raised and still live on the Eastern Shore, and never have I felt as if was isolated from anyone.
A sentence declaring the Shore ``within easy driving distance of millions of city dwellers'' proves the inaccuracy of the statement about isolation.
