Let's stop fussing about Ollie's lies and cut to his less understandable crimes.
Our personable Marine is guilty of sending arms to the Contras, Samoa's old death-squad graduates who murdered the poor for profit (and out of habit) and then vamoosed to the jungle. For there they terrorized not Nicaragua's Sandinista's Army, which could defend itself, but a civilian population of unarmed men, women and children.
The slaughter is not exactly a secret, despite its failure to attract the far right's attention or concern. If you've got the stomach for it, try Leslie Cockburn's Out of Control (Atlantic Monthly Press). Read how Ollie's favorite freedom fighters put little children to death, and raped andburned and cut the throats of innocent men and women with American commando knives obtained from the CIA.
How many corpses? Nobody knows.
How about Christians? Are brutality and lawlessness in the guise of patriotism the message of our Lord? Or have we again been gulled by a snake-oil salesman spouting Scripture?
Before you vote, find out. Do the research for a change.

I hope Virginia voters are aware of something I learned at my mother's knee:
``You cannot believe a liar, even when he speaks the truth.''

This election goes beyond character issues. House and Senate races across the nation will, in the aggregate, be a referendum on President Clinton ahd his failed liberal, Democratic philosophy and policies. We have an historic opportunity to change government for the better by electing Oliver North.

How dare Oliver North use David Jacobson for political gain. I know about the pain that David Jacobson felt. My step-brother was Col. William R. Higgins, one of the hostages who was not as fortunate as Mr. Jacobson. He came home in a casket.
My only memories of the hostage crisis are anger and hopelessness. I was very grateful that most Americans came home alive. Unfortunately, the only way I will see my step-brother is to visit his grave at Quantico National Cemetery.
Mr. North's actions did more harm than good, since more Americans were taken hostage after Iran-Contra.
I am going to vote the only way I can to honor my step-brother - for Chuck Robb.

Thanks to our president, our country is losing the tools to defend America.
Charles Robb was endorsed by the president.
We need Ollie North, who will put a stop to defense cuts and base closings, and make our country stronger.

I notice in the Federal Elections Commission report on the spending of the Senate candidates that Oliver North spent $665.68 on shredding. You would think a man with his shredding expertise could get a better deal.
I also noticed that the other candidates, Robb and Coleman, did not do any shredding.
If North were elected, could the budget afford such a shredder?

Bill Clinton is campaigning hard for Chuck Robb, because he knows that he can count on him to support him when he wants to raise taxes, make us taxpayers pay for abortion on demand, infringe upon our rights to keep and bear arms, and socialize our health-care system and society. In return, Clinton comes to Virginia to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions - pay for Robb's loyal support.
Well, I'm an average citizen here in Virginia, and I'm campaigning for Oliver North because I know that I can count on him to oppose the Washington insider crowd and fight for me in the Senate.
We can trust Ollie North to stand up for us, represent our views, protect our rights. We need Ollie North in the U.S. Senate, both for our future and for our children's futures.
Vote for Ollie North for change, before it's too late!
