Recent news articles have convinced me that ``Doctor'' Charles Vincent perpetrated a fraud on the voters in May's Virginia Beach School Board election and that he lacks not only the doctorate degree that was the centerpiece of his campaign but also the integrity required of a member of the School Board. Now that he has been exposed, Mr. Vincent should resign from the School Board immediately. Upon Mr. Vincent's resignation, the candidate-at-large runner-up should be appointed.
Mr. Vincent, however, is not the only party that must be held accountable for his fraudulent campaign. The Virginia Beach Education Association endorsed Mr. Vincent, spent thousands of dollars in support of him and other candidates on VBEA's slate and conducted a dirty campaign against opposing candidates. VBEA owes the city's voters an immediate public apology.
