Thelma Womble Blythe, 85, of 412 Crescent Drive, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 1994, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Blythe was a native of Southampton County and was the widow of William Linwood Blythe and the daughter of the late John Thomas and Margaret McLane Womble. Mrs. Blythe was retired from St. Regis Paper Company. She was a member of Hunterdale Baptist Church and its King's Sunday School class and Dorcas Fellowship Bible Class. She was a member of High St. Senior Citizens, a Pink Lady at Southampton Memorial Hospital and a volunteer at the East Pavilion.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jackie B. and Howard L. Vinson Sr. of Franklin; six grandchildren, Rev. Howard L. Vinson Jr. and William C. Vinson, both of Franklin, John R. Vinson of King William, Va., Renee V. Griffith of Franklin, Robin V. Breeden of Parlin, N.J., Rhonda V. Griffin of Courtland; two step grandchildren, James W. Joyner and Sherman C. Joyner, both of Franklin; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren and 10 step great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Blythe was predeceased by a step son: J. Fenton Blythe of Rocky Mount, N.C., and a stepdaughter, Essie B. Joyner of Franklin.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 1994, at Hunterdale Baptist Church with Rev. Howard L. Vinson Jr. officiating. The burial will be at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests memorial donations be made to Hunterdale Baptist Church. Wright Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
