JOHN R. HAGAN JR.

John Roy Hagan Jr., age 68, of the 1200 block of Sir George Circle died on October 25, 1994, at the Hospice of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia. A resident of the City of Virginia Beach, Mr. Hagan, born in St. Louis, Mo., lived in California, New York City, Connecticut, Minnesota and Iowa. Mr. Hagan graduated from the City College of San Francisco, California in 1948. He was a combat veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country from 1944 until 1947 in India, Australia and the South Pacific. He was most recently a Tidewater Virginia representative of the Pillsbury Company but previously worked for B. Altman in New York City and also served on the crew of several yachts on the Eastern Seaboard.

His chosen family is the Unitarian Church of Norfolk where a memorial service will be held in his remembrance on Tuesday November 1, 1994, at 7:30 pm. The church is located at 739 Yarmouth Street in the Ghent section of Norfolk. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Jefferson Endowment Fund of the Unitarian Church. Mr. Hagan was a devoted student of Thomas Jefferson's writings, life and philosophy. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
