Josephine Dillon Hyde, 86, of the 4300 block of County St., a retired clerk, died Oct. 26, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mrs. Hyde was born in Portsmouth. She retired in 1973 from Portsmouth Gas Co. after 40 years and was the widow of Roy W. Hyde. She was a member of Cottage Place United Methodist Church, the Eunice Reynolds Circle of the United Methodist Women of the church, Fellowship Sunday School class and the Argus Literary Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann H. Roche and Dorothy H. Goodman, both of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Amy L. Knott of Virginia Beach and Chuck Currie of Portsmouth; two stepgrandchildren, Karen Goodman of Hampton and Mike Goodman of Portsmouth; and great-granddaughter Ashley L. Knott of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Friday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. James Thomas. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Cottage Place United Methodist Church.
