OTTO CHARLES DRESCHER

Otto Charles Drescher, 84, of the 1700 block of Royal Park Court, died on October 26, 1994, in a Virginia Beach hospital. Prior to his lengthy illness, he lived 42 years on Great Neck Point.

Mr. Drescher was born in Caldwell, Texas, and came to Norfolk in 1933 as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He joined the Virginia Beverage Company in 1938 and retired as Secretary-Treasurer in 1980.

Mr. Drescher was a charter member and past president of the Kempsville Ruritan Club, member and past president of the American Heart Association, Norfolk Sports Club, American and Virginia Camellia societies, and Pheasant Pluckers International. He was active in the formation of All Saints Episcopal Church and has been a member since its inception.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anne Webb Drescher, three sons, Dr. C. Alison Drescher and John W. Drescher of Virginia Beach, and Richard L. Drescher of Portsmouth; a sister, Margaret D. Barker of San Antonio, Texas; three grandsons, Richard L. Drescher, Jr., John D. Drescher, and C. Edward Drescher of Virginia Beach; three granddaughters, Sally D. Reeve and Ryan McK. Drescher of Virginia Beach, and Anne W. Drescher of Mauai, Hawaii.

The family will receive friends at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel, on Thursday evening, October 27, between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.

A church service will be conducted on Friday October 28, 1994, at 3:00 p.m. in All Saints Episcopal Church by Reverend Dr. Stanley W. Sawyer and Father Edward L. Richardson, USN Retired. Burial will follow in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery in Virginia Beach.

Following the services, the family will be at the residence of Jack and Dale Drescher, 1341 East Bay Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church or the Alzheimer's Association - Hampton Roads Chapter.
