Two Southern investors have agreed to buy Park Communications Inc., an Ithaca, N.Y.-based newspaper and broadcasting group, for $711.4 million. All nine Park television stations, 22 radio stations and 106 newspaper publications will be sold to Donald R. Tomlin of Columbia, S.C., and Gary B. Knapp of Lexington, Ky., under a tentative sales agreement announced Wednesday. Among Park's stations are WSLS-TV in Roanoke, WTVR-TV in Richmond and WTVR-AM/FM in Richmond. Among its daily newspapers are The New-Virginian in Waynesboro and The Journal Messenger in Manassas. by CNB
