The Halloween howling comes to a high pitch this weekend as the fright night fast approaches.
There's plenty of ghostly goings-on and you'll need not search very far for those haunted hayrides, mansions and forests.
Tonight Portsmouth there's the Olde Towne Ghost Walk and on Saturday ``A Very Special Halloween'' is planned for children with special needs.
In Norfolk tonight its the 2nd Annual Boo Bash featuring fun at 11 restaurants. On Saturday and Sunday you'll find a haunted history program at The Ghosts of Fort Norfolk.
Virginia Beach offers up a host of haunted houses and such and there's a Monster Madness Celebration Saturday at the Virginia Marine Science Museum.
Also on Saturday you'll find a Fall Festival and Haunted Walk in Suffolk and a Halloween Bash with a science fiction theme over at the Virginia Air and Space Center in Hampton.
Many area libraries, recreation centers and shopping malls are offering their own haunted happenings - so check around. Here's a list to get you started.
2nd Annual Boo Bash. 5:30 to 11:30 tonight at 11 Norfolk restaurants. Judging at each location from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Costume entries must register at Waterside food court between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. Free trolley runs continuously between restaurants. Olde Towne Ghost Walk. Groups leave at 5 minute intervals from 6:30 to 10:30 tonight. Guided tour begins in the cemetery of Trinity Episcopal Church at High and Court streets, Portsmouth. Norfolk Jaycees Chamber of Horrors. Come visit the eerie Poltergeist room, the electrifying Mad Scientist Laboratory and more from 6 to 11 tonight through Monday (except Sunday from 6 to 10 p.m.).
