SISISKY MERITS RETURN TO CONGRESS

Congressman Norman Sisisky has served with distinction and is now one of the highest-ranking members of the Armed Services Committee.

If re-elected, he stands to chair the Subcommittee on Readiness which is responsible for allocating more than $100 billion budgeted for all four branches, with services ranging from commissaries to ship repair. A freshman congressman would not enjoy this influence.

Norman Sisisky this year alone helped obtain funding for construction at Chesapeake Naval Security Group Activity Northwest, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Craney Island and Fort Lee. These expenditures will strengthen our position with the BRAC committee in 1995. Sisisky was also very instrumental in securing full funding for carrier CVN-76.

Norman Sisisky consistently receives awards for his support of defense, foreign policy and small business. He supports a line-item veto and has always been a strong supporter of Social Security and Medicare.

Sisisky is highly respected in Congress by both parties, and your vote for this distinguished gentleman is urged.
