Oliver North owes us an explanation as to why Anglican envoy Terry Waite was taken hostage and imprisoned in Lebanon after moving freely throughout that area as a hostage negotiator for years. He was fine until North compromised him.
Hostage Robert Pohill blames North for his prolonged imprisonment, and charges North with making matters worse for most of the hostages.
North traded arms for profits that were secreted into a foreign bank account, always looking out for Ollie first. North is a reckless, lying, double-dealing opportunist.
I am personally opposed to abortion on demand, but I will not vote for North just because of that. He is in all other respects an arrogant man, unworthy of public trust.
North's proven potential for creating national and international mischief is enormous. Sending him to Washington would be like setting the fox to guard the chickens. His appetite for personal power is ravenous.
He has demonstrated time and again that he is an outlaw and renegade, a man intoxicated by power. If he can deny his commander in chief, I must deny him, and I do. I agree with Sen. John Warner that North is not fit to serve in the U.S. Senate.
