Two MetroNews charts, one on school safety measures and the other
on child abuse, were switched Thursday and ran with the wrong
stories. Also, in the chart comparing reported and well-founded
cases of child abuse, the correct number of founded cases in Suffolk
in 1991-92 is 64.
The name of Mark Kumpf, senior animal control officer in Norfolk,
was spelled incorrectly in a Thursday story about an outbreak of
rabies among kittens in New Hampshire.
The number to call for information on Norfolk's Second Annual
Downtown Boo Bash is 623-1757. An incorrect phone number was listed
in the Compass community section. The Boo Bash begins today at
5:30.
Clarification
The Northampton County supervisors held public hearings on School
Board appointments, but the names of those eventually placed on the
board were not considered at those hearings. As stated in a story
Wednesday, the status of those on the eight-member board is
uncertain because the supervisors inadvertently failed to follow the
provisions of a 1987 state law requiring appointees to be considered
at a public hearing.
