Suffolk police were seeking clues Thursday in the shooting death of a 21-year-old Portsmouth man, who was found dead in the Saratoga section of the city.
The victim, whom police declined to identify until relatives were found, was found shot in the upper torso at 10:50 a.m. near a gravel access road off Hull Street.
The body was dumped on rocks on Norfolk & Western Railway property, about 30 feet from the tracks, police said.
Police said the victim was shot at close range with a .45-caliber pistol.
Police were searching for two men in a two-door Ford Bronco seen around the tracks.
The victim was about 6 feet tall, weighed about 160 pounds and wore a black, hooded sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers.
