Edward E. Black Sr., 63, died on Friday, Oct. 28, 1994. He was a native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and a Peninsula resident since 1956.
Mr. Black was employed by Newport News Shipbuilding for 43 years in the sheet metal department. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survived by his wife, Betty G. Black; three sons, Edward E. Black Jr. of Virginia Beach, Mark A. Black of Yorktown and David W. Black of Hampton; a stepson, R. Christopher Holden of Chesapeake; two stepdaughters, Sherry Lebowitz and Joye Geouge, both of Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Margie Wrenn, Arlene Miller and Jane Curley, all of Virginia Beach; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Peninsula Funeral Home by the Rev. Mike Nobles. Memorials to the American Heart Association.
