JOHN L. BRANCH

Mr. John L. Branch of the 900 block of Anna St., departed this life on Oct. 25.

Mr. Branch was born in Smithfield, Va., and was the son of the late Mr. Johnny and Martha Branch. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, the Old Buck Hunting Club of Gates, N.C., and the Broad Creek Shores Civic League, and retired from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center after 32 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Verna M. Branch; a stepson, Simon A. Charles of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters, Mrs. Lucielle Anderson of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Dorothy B. Robinson, Mrs. Mary B. Robinson, and Mrs. Martha Moore of Carrollton, Va.; brothers, Mr. Aston Branch, Mr. Floyd Branch of Carrollton, Va., Mr. Alex Branch of Ivor, Va., and Mr. Shepherd Branch of Portsmouth, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. William Spratley of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Eloise Branch of Baltimore, Md.; devoted brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Palmer of Virginia Beach and also a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Jerusalem Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas Venable. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Graves Funeral Home in charge. There will be a wake service Sunday evening from 6 to 7 p.m.
