JOSEPH A. RUSSO SR.

Joseph A. ``Joe'' Russo Sr., 69, of the 800 block of Brinson Lane, died Oct. 27, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Russo was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He had retired from the U.S. Navy and had also retired from Pantry Pride Stores Inc. He was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and Korea. He was a member and vice president of Roma Lodge 254 in Virginia Beach. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 99 and Aragona Community Recreation Center in Virginia Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Norma L. Russo of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Tessa Latter of Janesville, Wis.; a son, Joseph A. ``Joe'' Russo II of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mary Russo of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren; and survived by many friends.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Gregory's Catholic Church by Fr. Luke Policicchio O.S.B. Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A Christian Wake service will be held in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Sunday at 7 p.m. Followed by a Fleet Reserve service and a Roma Lodge service where the family will remain until 9 p.m.
