Alvin White Wilkins, 89, of the 400 block of Chestnut St., died Oct. 27, 1994 in Heritage Hall nursing home, Nassawadox, Va.
Mr. Wilkins was a retired designer, artist and sign painter and was self-employed. He was a former member of Emanuel A.M.E. Church and attended Portsmouth public schools.
Survivors include three sisters, Adeline Clayborne of Stratford, Conn., and Louise Wilkins and Elsie Smith of Portsmouth; a brother-in-law, Emmerson R. Smith; and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Lincoln Cemetery by the Rev. James F. Mason. The family will assemble at Fisher Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Monday.
