ROGER W. GASKIN

Roger W. Gaskin, CDR USN RET, 58, of Gurnee, Illinois, died on 20 October 1994 at Highland Park Hospital. Served aboard the USS Intrepid during Vietnam War, decorated. Served as first navigator of USS Eisenhower. Last duty with the Supreme Allied Command Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia. Retired after 26 years of service.

Charter member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Gurnee, Illinois.

Survived by wife, Ann; children Maura (Drew) Heiss, Arthur (Diane) Gaskin, Morgan and Eleanor; grandchildren, Charles Gaskin and Britta Heiss. Also survived by siblings, Henry (Marilyn) Gaskin, Liliane (the late Emmanuel) Kapitanoff, Georgine (Ronald) Freitag, Elaine ``Noanie'' (the late Mason) Dobson and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased relatives are parents, George Gaskin and Inez Von Schoenberg, sister Stella Scott and son Mark.

Roger was interred at Fort Sheriden Cemetery in Illinois on 25 October 1994 with full military honors.

Donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
