POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH OF MAN FOUND IN WOODS

Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found by a passerby early Saturday.

The body was found about 1:30 a.m. by someone walking in the woods in the 3600 block of Cape Henry Ave.

Larry Hill, a police spokesman, said investigators believe the body had been in the woods for some time. It was found on the south side of the street near the intersection of Minnesota Avenue and Cape Henry.

The cause of death was not immediately known. The body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Norfolk for examination.
