Democrats have already realized that it is more important to get their man elected than to be hard-headed and run two men, getting neither of them elected. There is no love lost between Douglas Wilder and Charles Robb, but Wilder swallowed his pride, dropped out of the race and is supporting Robb. Smart move!
So why doesn't Marshall Coleman drop out and support North? He might even be ale to get not-so-loyal Republican Sen. Warner to realize that North would vote more like he does than Sen. Robb will do in the next 10 years.
My choice lost in the primary, so I will now vote for North because he will surely vote more conservatively than Robb. I wish Coleman and Warner would reconsider their positions and help the Republicans win one more seat in the Senate. I think that is more important than their egos.
