Christopher Newport University entered an agreement Tuesday with Beijing Polytechnic University in China to share research on laser physics.
``Our strengths in lasers fit with the technological interests of Beijing,'' said George Webb, dean of Christopher Newport's College of Science and Technology. The agreement, he said, will ``foster scientific development in the area of laser physics at the two universities.''
The schools forged a relationship when CNU's president, Anthony R. Santoro, met his counterpart at Beijing, Cai Shaopu, during a recent trip to China, Webb said. Cai and two colleagues were at Christopher Newport on Tuesday to sign the agreement. by CNB
